This book with seventy-two colour illustrations, tells the four pilgrims' encounter with demons on Lion-Camel Mountain. Monkey gets the demons to take the Tang Priest across the mountain in a sedan chair, but the demons then capture all four of them. Monkey escapes and rescues the others, but as they are climbing the city wall to flee, the demons trap all but Monkey. With the help of the Buddha and two bodhisattivas Monkey subdues the demons and saves his master, Pig and Friar Sand.
